Goodies Restaurant Has New Menus

Posted: April 30, 2011 in Web Design

When I started updating the website for Goodies Restaurant in the Goodies For Gardens Complex, Glen Marais, Kempton Park  I found something very nice about the whole operation. They made a point of  keeping the menus and other information on the website up to date. I approached them during the latter part of last year to create the website and the manager was keen on the project.

The Goodies Restaurant website now forms a great part in marketing their services since they receive numerous calls and e-mails for bookings. This is very satisfying to me as the webmaster and to them because of the fantastic response they get on a regular basis. What a shame about the other companies that I have approached regarding a website that offer some excuse why they don’t need one! They are obviously missing the action. The manager at Goodies Restaurant is enjoying the extra clientele he gets off the website.

Every time I go and visit Goodies Restaurant and speak to the manager, Mark, I notice how peaceful it is there and how inviting the plates of food look as they serve their clients.  This is the ideal outing when you want to treat your kids – and yourself because the kids have an absolute ball on the jungle gyms and in the sandpit.ause

Happy People

It is easy to blame our lack of achievement on somebody or something else however it is an extremely unsatisfactory feeling to continually underachieve. Whatever your history and baggage regardless of how difficult your life has been, you shouldn’t let it prevent you from future success. Rather than dwell on any difficult times in your past, why not use it as fuel to add to the burning desire for success. Once you have decided that this is what you want to do then the next step is to take positive action. You will find that the hardest part about taking positive action in this very first part of actually getting started after that it is easy. If you plan to go jogging whether it be for 5 minutes or 50 minutes the hardest part will be getting out of the door. Once you have got out of the door you will more than likely find that you can keep going and going without any particular difficulty. So just get started and take positive action now. When you find a system that is working for you in whatever part of your life it may be, business, health, relationships then test that system. If you have a great training program test it to see if you can improve it by varying different elements of it. Keep doing this until you find the most efficient combination. Once you have found the most efficient and productive system for you, then repeat that system. Simply rinse and repeat that system until you have reached the level of success that you desire. This is where focus is important; do not lose sight of your goal, having come so far, and found a system that works do not let your mind-set waiver. Remain persistent and ruthless in pursuit of your goal and keep taking positive action until you have achieved it. Once you have used this overall positive action approach to one area of your life, the great thing is you can transfer this mind-set and positive thinking approach to any area of your life you so desire. This is the core foundation to many successful people success and there is no reason why you shouldn’t copy this format. Look at how Arnold Schwarzenegger achieved success firstly in bodybuilding then in movies and now currently in politics. They are incredibly diverse areas of life to go into and be successful in but he did it with this mind-set. You really can have the life of your dreams but it is down to you. When are you going to start?

Web Site Design

Posted: January 29, 2011 in Web Design

Web design is a vast field into which I ventured in 2007 not knowing what I was letting myself in for. I had not done my homework and just rushed in and started. Four years later I am still learning. Since then I have read about other people who also plunged into this field unprepared and went on to be successful. Perseverance and a willingness to learn a lot eventually pays off.

There are many contrasting views regarding which programs and tools one should use to create web sites. I started with the simpler ones and learned as I went along. If you look on the Internet at web design software you are confronted by a myriad of tools to choose from. Some are quick and easy to get to grips with and others require a lot of time and patience. My favorites so far are: Serif WebPlus X4, Microsoft Expression Web4, Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, Artisteer, Aptana Studio and Microsoft Visual Studio. Each of these have certain features that I prefer to use, so I cannot stick to one piece of software. When someone asks me if I design my sites in Dreamweaver I just say yes. However, I usually use my whole box of tricks when I need to. Lately I am looking at WordPress because my client wants to be able to author some of his own changes.

I also ventured into blogging, which is a lot of work if you want to make a success of it, and find that it is rewarding when a lot of people view your blog. When I started I thought, “How am I going to get people to my blog.” Then I resorted to Facebook to entice viewers to visit my blog. Now I have to learn how to post interesting articles with good content on my blog and see if that will do the trick. Hopefully I will succeed.

Your Gift Is Today

Posted: January 29, 2011 in Uncategorized

I wonder what today will bring. Laughter, smiles, happiness, success, new friendships, pleasant surprises, unexpected turn of events, good fortune, protection from unseen disaster, a gift, love.

Secretly we all wish for these things and maybe more. What do you expect for today? If every day was the same, how boring life would be. Share your thoughts. I want to know.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift – that’s why its called the present. These are true words in all religions and aspects of life. No matter what happens – even the truly bad – the day is a gift because it gives you a chance to learn something that you never knew before. Challenge the day, and see what you can learn.
